PowerSol specialises in all aspects of CMMS application implementation and conversion. Whether you are converting to a new system or upgrading your current CMMS we can provide assistance with your implementation, data capture, data migration or data cleansing activities. The system conversion period provides an ideal opportunity to carry out a data cleansing exercise to rid your database of unnecessary data or correct existing data. PowerSol can carry out data cleansing and correction using applications specifically designed for the task. Typical elements of a CMMS implementation:
Which
CMMS? Whether you
are about to embark on a conversion from manual to computer based
maintenance or you are updating your existing CMMS,
there are any number of different packages to choose from. PowerSol can offer to
take some of the strain and pain out of the process by matching the client
with a suitable software supplier. In order to do
this we would firstly carry out a business process review followed by
in-depth discussions with your organisation to decide what would best
suit your needs. This process would result in a jointly agreed
plan of action. A strategic part of any
implementation is a project plan. This plan acts as
the driving force for the project and is reviewed on a regular
basis against previously agreed key target dates. PowerSol can
provide a preparation and monitoring service that facilitates communications
between the various parties involved. This, in turn, encourages projects
to come in to budget and on time.
If you are embarking on
your first attempt at computerised maintenance you may not hold many,
if any, of your plant records electronically. Most organisations
will hold some computerised data but this is often in various formats
including spreadsheets and databases. The first job is
therefore to review the information that is already held and
subsequently decide what information you will need to hold in the
future. We have methods of capturing and
recovering data that may already be held in a variety of formats, plus we have
a great deal of experience of inputting, as yet, uncollected data. The
final part of the process is to map all the existing and captured data
into a format suitable for the chosen maintenance application. Organisations that have been
operating a CMMS for some time, regardless of their commitment to
system management, usually have a large number of incorrect or
redundant plant records that require attention. Data cleansing can rid your application
of these unwanted or erroneous records, thus saving data storage space
and the chances of incorrect data analysis. PowerSol
has the tools to seek out and present erroneous data for analysis and
eventual deletion. Even
comprehensive packages such as MaximoŽ do not contain all the
facilities that might be required by a client. Although some of
these applications can be adapted, it can sometimes be beneficial to
utilise a complementary application and link the two together. A
case in point is PowerSol's PowerMax
Scheduler. This is a work order scheduling
application that simplifies the process of day to day work
allocation to either an event, such as a plant outage, a team of
operatives or a particular time frame. An
additional application is the Query Reporting
Tool that facilitates the interrogation of data held within the
linked database For
the investment in a new CMMS to pay off, it is essential that all
staff involved in operating it on a day to day basis are adequately
trained in its use. Once
a new application has been installed and commissioned, there is still
a need to administer both the data and the system. This is to
cater for leavers/new users to have access privileges altered
plus the requirement to add or delete data as equipment is modified or
replaced. PowerSol
can provide support for system administration
or system management either on site or remotely, on
a one-off or a periodic basis. During system conversion
it is often the case that some historical data records are not
necessarily suitable for migration into the
new CMMS application. Additionally it is not unusual for clients
to want to use the system conversion as a way of starting afresh with
a new set of records. However, there is normally a
requirement to retain access to all legacy records for legal and
historical reasons. In
situations such as these, PowerSol creates an archive database that is designed
to replicate the previously used CMMS. The legacy data is then
loaded into this database and presented to the client on CD-Rom. All
companies and organisations who put people to work or organise
activities have to comply with risk assessment
legislation. PowerSol has created PowerMax
Activity Risk Assessor which is an
application that allows the user to create, record and
print off risk assessment documents in line with the current legislation. Regardless
of the subject matter, the PowerSol design team has the experience and
ability to either design and build new database applications or modify and
update existing database software. Using our Systems Analyst
capabilities we can provide a design and implementation facility to
meet client requirements.
